How it works
A choice, a result, a chat — and another go.
Every CurioKid kit is built on the same loop. Children don’t read about a skill first — they use it, see what happens and decide what to change.
- Play
- Choose
- Act
- See what happens
- Talk it through
- Try again
- …and round again.
In Let’s Design a Business!
Inside a challenge
- 1
Step 1
Pick a challenge
Each page sets up a moment at the stall: what to sell, what price to charge, a rainy day, an unhappy customer.
- 2
Step 2
Make a decision
Your child chooses what to do, using a decision card or their own idea.
- 3
Step 3
See what happens
Play money changes hands. The ledger shows what was earned, spent and left over.
- 4
Step 4
Talk it through
A short question from the parent guide: why did that work? What would you change?
- 5
Step 5
Try again
Change the plan and play the challenge again, or move on and collect a star.
From the book
Three levels of problems to solve
Level 1 starts with the basics — what to sell, how people will notice your cart. Later levels bring rain-damaged stock, customers in a hurry and running your own shop.

“I don’t know what to sell — how will you choose what to sell?” with a slide-out answer window

“It starts to rain! How can you still sell in the rain?”

“Rain damaged some items — what will you do?”
Many pages have a slide-out window: your child decides first, then slides it open to compare ideas. Stars beside each idea help them weigh which might work best.
